“Growing up I always knew that my dad had a very important job but it wasn't until about 4 years ago when I realized what he sacrificed for our country and its citizens to have their freedom. My dad, Christian, was in The United States Air Force for 20 years and throughout those years he sacrificed many things but what stuck out to me growing up was how he sacrificed time with me and my siblings to protect our country. My hope after graduation is to make a living that gives me the ability to take care of my dad, not only to show my gratitude for his service but to gain the lost time back as well. Your generosity will undoubtedly help me achieve that goal and give back to my dad who sacrificed so much so that I could be in this position today.”

“This award means a lot to my family because of the sacrifices my father made during his time in the U.S. Army. Higher education is expensive. Therefore, every little bit counts. I can assure you that none will go wasted. I will continue to push forward with my education. After law school, I would like to serve as a JAG officer in the Air Force or the Navy. I have always wanted to serve the country, however, I was not exactly sure what that would look like. Since coming to law school, I have learned more about what a JAG officer does and the process of becoming a JAG officer after law school. This scholarship is incredibly important in that it offers support to the loved ones of service members who gave the ultimate sacrifice so that their loved ones can still have some support even though their loved one is gone.”
